Valkyrie

This project was a bit of a learning curve as it was my first draped design. I draped it on a bodice form and it turned out great, darts were matched up, the fit was perfect, and the zipper was the only slight flaw of the slip dress. But this was not the learning curve i was talking about. I wanted to make the piece Avant-Garde and elevate the look but I got fabric that was not doing what I thought it would do. I got thicker and much nicer fabric that I then put fusible interfacing on for extra support and structure. I made this for Omaha Fashion Week's Spring/Summer 2024 showing and I was working on it until the very last minute, hand sewing all the armor pieces as a machine was just not going to work. It walked the runway put together by hopes and dreams but my model made the look magnificent, and it luckily did not fall apart mid walk.
